COLDPLAY's official website crashed on Tuesday (29. Apr08) after it was inundated by fans looking to download their new single for free.
The British rockers gave music lovers the chance to sample their forthcoming track Violet Hill without paying a thing - posting the song online at midday.
But within minutes thousands of fans had logged on to get their hands on the group's first musical offering since 2006, forcing organisers to shut down the site due to technical problems.
