Jazz pianist GERALD WIGGINS has died in hospital after a long battle with illness.
The 86 year old, who performed alongside Louis Armstrong, Benny Carter and Roy Eldridge, among others, and became Marilyn Monroe's vocal coach died on Sunday (13. Jul08).
Monroe once gave him a photo autographed with, 'For Gerry. I can't make a sound without you. Love you, Marilyn.' Born in 1922 in New York, Wiggins studied classical piano from the age of four.
By the time he hit high school, Wiggins was an accomplished pianist, playing gigs all over the Big Apple.
But he fell in love with Los Angeles and moved .....
