Full Sharon Case Biography
Sharon Case, who joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in August 1994 as Sharon Collins, the wife of Nicholas Newman, received Emmy Award nominations in 1996 and 1997 as Outstanding Younger Leading Actress.
Prior to joining the series, Sharon had portrayed Debbie in As the World Turns, also on CBS, Dawn in General Hospital, and Anne in Valley of the Dolls. She stars in the new HBO Production Silicone Wars with David Schwimmer. Her additional television credits include guest-starring roles in Cheers, Beverly Hills, 90210, Silk Stalkings, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and Doogie Howser.
Sharon starred in the feature film Diplomatic Immunities. Her theater credits include lead roles in Grease, The Wizard, and The Nutcracker.
Sharon was born in Detroit and soon thereafter, moved to Chatsworth, California. During her free time, she enjoys shopping, reading, and traveling. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and stands 5' 7". Her birth date is February 9. |

Sharon Case (born February 9, 1971 in Detroit, Michigan) is an Emmy Award-winning American soap opera actress.
In 1994, she became the third, and longest-running, actress to play Sharon Collins Newman Abbott on The Young and the Restless, a role that she still plays today. Case has won several awards for her work on Y&R, including the Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy in 1999. She also received the 1998 Soap Opera Award for Hottest Female In A Daytime Drama. In April 2007, Case renewed her contract with the show, signing on for three more years.
In 1989, she assumed the role of Dawn Winthrop on General Hospital; she left the show in 1990. She then took the role of Debbie Simon on As the World Turns in 1992 and played the role until 1993.
Along with doing work in soaps, Case has also appeared in several primetime shows including Cheers, Beverly Hills 90210, Parker Lewis Can't Lose and Silk Stalkings. Early in her career, Case turned down an offer to appear in a large role in the HBO film Breast Men because she didn't feel comfortable being topless in a movie. She appeared in FHM magazine in 2001.
In her childhood, Case focused on ballet and jazz. While in grammar school her family moved to Los Angeles, where she was discovered at a local modeling event. She was offered and accepted a job in Japan when she was 17 and worked there for five months before returning to LA, where she took acting lessons. |
