Full Mary Nighy Biography
Nighy was named one of the UK film council's breakthrough Brits in 2005. Her performance as the Franco-Italian courtier Marie-Louise, princesse de Lamballe in the 2006 film Marie Antoinette won her critical praise.
Nighy is director of Foster Films. She has directed a short film Lulu, assistant directed at the Soho Theatre, and directed Lyre at the High Tide Festival in Spring 2007.
Nighy has just completed filming her second short film, Player, written by Sam Hodges (who also wrote Lyre) and starring Pete Postlethwaite and Celia Imrie. She will next perform in a reading of Sylvia Plath's Three Women alongside her mother, as part of the 2007 Sylvia Plath Symposium.
Nighy was born in London, England and is the daughter of Bill Nighy and Diana Quick. Nighy graduated with First-Class Honours in English from University College London in 2006. |
