Full Chris Weitz Biography
Christopher John Weitz (born 1969, New York City, New York), an American producer and director. He is known for his work with his brother Paul Weitz on American Pie, About a Boy, and other movies.
Weitz was born in New York, New York, the son of actress Susan Kohner and novelist/fashion designer John Weitz.
Weitz has also worked as an actor, playing the lead role of Chuck in the 2000 comedy drama movie Chuck & Buck and a bland suburbanite in Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
He directed and wrote the screenplay for his newest film, The Golden Compass, slated for worldwide release throughout December 2007. The film, starring Nicole Kidman, Dakota Blue Richards and Daniel Craig, is an adaptation of the first book of the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. |
