Full Cylk Cozart Biography
Cylk Cozart (born February 1,) in Knoxville, Tennessee) is an American actor that has appeared in over 30 films and 20 television shows. His father is of African ancestry and his mother is Native American. His most recent roles are National Lampoon's Cattle Call and as Det. Jimmy Mulvey opposite Bruce Willis in 16 Blocks. He is set to star in the Robert Dinero produced "20% Fiction" Also in 2007 Cozart will direct his first feature film, called "ZULU LOUNGE". Cylk will not have any time in between jobs, because after he's done filming with the legend, he will go right into production for "SWEETWATER", the story of the HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS,Sweetwater Cliffton. Richard Dryfuss starrs as Abe Saperstein the Globbies founder/owner. Cozart will not only serve as a producer but will co-star as the great MARCUS HAYNES. In 2008, Cozart can be seen opposite the legend RUBY DEE. in "STEAM", which also stars Alley Sheedy.
Prior to becoming an actor, Cozart was an established model working in Miami, FL. In his high school years, he was a talented football and basketball player. He attended Montreat Anderson College in North Carolina.He almost made a professional career out of basketball, but he suffered a foot injury in the NBA Summer Pro League after graduating from college. A demonstration of his skill can be seen in the film White Men Can't Jump, which also starred actors Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson.
Cozart is President and Co-chairman of a production company called P.O.V. Planet, which created and produced the Wave to the World all-star celebrity video "Spirit of Life" for the 2000 Paralympic games in Sydney, Australia. The video won the Video and Aurora Awards. He has made contributions to various charity and Humanitarian causes such as the Lupus Foundation, National Indian Council, and the Tourette Syndrome Association. |
