Additional Michael Easton Biography
While Easton is best known for his work in daytime drama, he is also an accomplished poet and photographer. His first volume of poetry, Eighteen Straight Whiskeys, is reminiscent of Bukowski's poetry in that it realistically portrays the struggles, independence, and subtle heroism of America's working class. Dark and gritty at times (the poet himself has termed it "a dark ride"), it nonetheless celebrates a movement from the darkness toward the light, which is captured by the cover photo by Easton himself. A discussion of his poetic works can be found at .
Easton's photography also shows promise. His contribution to One Life to Live's text CD, the proceeds of which support victims of Hurricane Katrina, was a booklet of portraits of the contributing musicians. That short portfolio illustrates sensitivity to working with different contexts and photographic forms to capture subjects of the portraits.
