Full Daniel MacPherson Biography
Daniel was born on 25 April 1980 to Keith and Anne. He has a brother, Andrew and sister, Brodie.
He hasn't always lived in Australia. When Daniel was about 10, the family lived in England and travelled through France, Italy and Switzerland before returning to Australia.
As a student at Sydney Boys High School, Daniel enjoyed athletics, especially triathlons: a sport which involves cycling, running and swimming. In 1995, he won the title Club Champion 'Rookie' of the Year and a place in the New South Wales Championships. At school, he was awarded the Ross Miller Trophy for 'Best All Rounder Academic and Sportsman'.
Daniel would probably have gone to university to study Commerce and Marketing or Economics, if he had not become an actor. In 1998 he was chosen to play Joel in the Australian TV soap Neighbours, and soon became a favourite. He was voted 'Most Dateable Guy in Australia 1998' by readers of the Dolly magazine and in 1999 he won a Logie Award for 'Most Popular New Male Talent'. In 2001 he was nominated for a Silver Logie in the 'Most Popular Actor' category.
In addition, Daniel has modelled and starred in several pantomimes. After he leaves Neighbours later this year, he will be on stage in the Aladdin panto in England. |

Additional Daniel MacPherson Biography
Bearing a similarity to his real life, the blond-haired actor's character was also a budding athlete, until a knee injury. After leaving the soap in 2002, Daniel travelled to the UK to be in a British production of the musical Godspell. After that he took on the role of PC Cameron Tait in the British drama The Bill, which he played from 2003 until 2004.
More recently he went back to Australia to present the Australian version of the singing contest, The X Factor. He also hosted a three part series called Killer Sharks on Australia's Network Ten in February 2006.
He is currently appearing in a British/Australian production entitled 'Tripping Over', appearing on Five (in the UK) and Network Ten (in Australia), also featuring ex-Neighbours co-star Brooke Satchwell, who played Anne Wilkinson.
Daniel has posed nude in two major magazines. One was for gay men's magazine Attitude and the Australian women's magazine Cleo.
Daniel starred two pantomimes at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury alongside Paul Hendy and Leila Birch. |
