Full Robert Sean Leonard Biography
Robert Sean Leonard (born Robert Lawrence Leonard on February 28, 1969 in Ridgewood, New Jersey) is a Tony Award-winning US actor who is most noted for his role as aspiring actor Neil Perry in the 1989 film Dead Poets Society. Leonard was born in Westwood, New Jersey, and grew up in Ridgewood, where he attended Ridgewood High School.
He is a three-time Tony Award nominee (1993, 2001 and 2003), winning in 2001 (Best Actor - Featured Play) for his role as A.E. Housman in Tom Stoppard's The Invention of Love.
He is engaged to Gabriella Salick, an international show jumper and classics scholar, whom he met at Columbia University. He also maintains a close friendship with House co-star Hugh Laurie, as well as childhood friend, Dead Poets Society and Tape co-star, Ethan Hawke.
