Full Elissa Sursara Biography

Elissa Sursara was born in Avalon Beach, Sydney, the daughter of first generation Brazilian immigrants, who fled her families native Ipanema to escape poverty. Sursara was accepted to YALE University before choosing to pursue acting full-time.

After a series of guest and starring roles in both Australian and US television, Sursara was hand-picked by director Catherine Hardwicke to play the female lead in 2009's Age Aint Nothing But a Number. Sursara's most recent pre-production projects include Sex Is Bad, Ok? alongside Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep, playing a co-star role.
