Full Cody Kasch Biography
Kasch was born in Camarillo, California of Scottish heritage. After numerous television guest appearances, Kasch seemed to get his big break when he was cast in a regular role on the John Goodman sitcom Normal, Ohio, only to see that series be cancelled after only a few episodes. Kasch played Texan high school student in the Australian teenage series, Out There. Four years later, Kasch was hired to play the character of Zach Young on the popular ABC comedy-drama Desperate Housewives, a role that provided Kasch instant fame. As the son of deceased Mary Alice Young, Kasch played one of the pivotal figures in the show's main mystery. After a brief absence from the show he returned in the season 3 as Gabrielle Solis' secret admirer. He is also the narrator for several audiobooks. He is also gust starring in Side Order of Life.
In May 2005, Kasch was arrested for marijuana possession in New York City and charged with a fifth-degree drug possession.
Kasch was actually born in Santa Monica California, but raised in Ojai California on a working ranch until he was nearly fourteen, when he moved to Camarillo. Both parents where actively involved in arts, his father an actor and writer of plays that premeired locally, and his mother a director and photographer. Also, it should be noted that he showed signs of high mental capacity at an early age when he proved himself able to complete complex math problems in the second grade, also devouring books both fiction and non fiction. He tutored the other boys in his class and some in higher grades. He was tested for intelligence and scored better results than most adults. Thus he was admitted into gifted programs that where publically run and remained until sixth grade when the appeal of working caused him to withdraw from school in order to pursue a healthier income for him and his family. From that time forth, Cody spent little time dealing with normal affairs that his friends were busy with, and focused his time on mental activities, mostly involving his chosen craft, acting, and as his older brother began to experiance success, the friendly brothers competed with themselves for jobs and the right to call eachother professionals. This mild success is what cause the entire Kasch family to leave Ojai once and for all and move to Camarillo, as it was more favorably located. |
