Born to parents who were both journalists, she is the only girl amongst a large family - she has a script writer brother Damon who lives in Los Angeles, and two half brothers Alexander and Nicholas, who live in Stockholm. Her parents separated when she was two, and her Irish mother Noreen Taylor subsequently moved the family to Brighton, where she later married Guardian columnist Roy Greenslade. The couple now live in Ireland.
In Spring 2006 she starred in the West End production of Honour at the Wyndham's Theatre alongside Diana Rigg and Martin Jarvis. She currently stars in Californication as Karen, alongside David Duchovny.
