Full Victoria Beckham Biography
Victoria Adams was born April 17 (Aries), 1974. She does not like being called Vicky. Instead, call her Posh, which stands for the best of everything (an old luxury liner term, P.O.S.H. stood for "Port Out, Starboard Home"-- the best rooms). Growing up, she didn't like being driven to school in her father's Rolls Royce (they were very wealthy; later, as Posh, she would have an image of someone who revels in wealth).
Victoria began as a dancer before eventually landing a spot as a member of the Spice Girls. While in college, Victoria was briefly in another band. After completing the 3-year course at Lanie Arts, she answered an ad in "The Stage" magazine, which was looking for 5 girls who could sing and dance. Victoria was picked, history was about to be made. (Victoria had met: Emma who had been in a play with her when they were kids; Geri while auditioning for a role in "Tank Girl"; Mel C. attended a rival school when they were 15; and Mel B. at the audition for the forming of the band.) The Spice Girls became fantastically successful, achieving international fame. The wildly popular Spice Girls performed at sold-out concerts, did tours, and of course the "Spice World" movie. Victoria married soccer player David Beckham, and they had a son in 1999. |

Additional Victoria Beckham Biography
In 2007, the Spice Girls reformed and announced plans for a comeback tour. Just a year earlier on 26 February 2006, Victoria Beckham stated in an interview with the Sunday Mirror: "I'm never going to sing again, unless it was a chance to do something with the Spice Girls. I don't really miss the shows we did together. I miss the girls more. I see Geri a lot — I love her, she's amazing. I speak to the others from time to time. I love them too and miss them." Beckham also said that she and her former Spice colleagues were enjoying their solo careers in various fields. She said: "We're all still doing our own thing." A Greatest Hits album is set to be released in November along with an official documentary that will support the tour.
In August 2000, Victoria released her first solo single: "Out Of Your Mind", a collaboration with the Garage act the Truesteppers and Dane Bowers. The week of release coincided with the release of "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" by Spiller ft. Sophie Ellis-Bextor, resulting in a chart battle dubbed 'Posh vs. Posher' by the tabloids. Following a huge publicity campaign, "Out Of Your Mind" was outsold by 20,000 copies and debuted at number two with first week sales of 180,584 copies.
In 2000, Victoria Beckham made a guest appearance on the catwalk for Maria Grachvogel. Beckham has also acted as British "ambassador" for Dolce and Gabbana and walked the runway for her close friend Roberto Cavalli and was for a period exclusively dressed by him for red-carpet and social events.
Beckham was quoted by a Spanish journalist in 2005 as saying "I've never read a book in my life". She later claimed this was a mistranslation from the original Spanish in which the interview was printed, saying she actually stated she never had time to finish reading a book because she was always running around after her children.
Her second book, about fashion, was called That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything In Between, was published on 30 October 2006. It was co-written by Hadley Freeman, deputy fashion editor of The Guardian and a contributing editor of Vogue and includes photography by Mario Testino, Annie Leibovitz and Steven Meisel. On the Sunday Times Book Charts, the book reached number 2.
In September 2007, a Paperback "Handbag" sized updated version of That extra half an inch was published. The book will be released to US stores in November 2007 with a number of brand new Photographs.
The third is called Victoria's Secrets and little is known about it aside from it being aired only in the UK. The fourth was called Full Length & Fabulous: The Beckhams' World Cup Party, which followed Victoria and David Beckham organising and making preparations to host a World Cup Party at a marquee in the grounds of their mansion in Hertfordshire, which aimed to raise money for their charity. The documentary also filmed the event itself, where the menu was designed especially by friend and chef Gordon Ramsay and the charity auction was hosted by Graham Norton.
In July 2007, it was announced that Beckham was shortly to begin filming a cameo appearance playing herself in an episode of the second season of ABC's TV series Ugly Betty. The episode is expected to air in November 2007.
Beckham has also been spoofed on shows including 2DTV as a cartoon, impersonated by Ronni Ancona on Big Impression and more recently in 2006's Star Stories where Daisy Beaumont impersonated her in episode: "David & Victoria: Our Story".
An unofficial documentary titled What's Eating Victoria Beckham? aired in Australia and the U.K in early 2007, featuring interviews with people Beckham has associated with over the years. The documentary was Tabloid-styled, and not in Beckham's favour, making continual note of her suggested eating disorders & plastic surgery, relationship problems with David and the hiccups throughout her solo career.
Victoria started dating footballer David Beckham in 1997, and the couple were dubbed "Posh and Becks" by the media. Beckham proposed to Victoria on 24 January 1998 in a restaurant in Cheshunt, England, and their first son, Brooklyn Joseph, was born on 4 March 1999 in London, England. The two were married at Luttrellstown Castle, Ireland on 4 July 1999, and the wedding attracted tremendous media coverage. Beckham's teammate Gary Neville was the best man, and the couple's son Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, then four months old, was the ring bearer. Most of the media were kept away from the ceremony, as the Beckhams had an exclusive deal with OK! Magazine, but the couple released photographs showing them sitting on golden thrones. 437 staff were employed for the wedding reception, which was estimated to have cost £500,000. The Beckhams' second son, Romeo James Beckham, was born on 1 September 2002 in London, England; a third son, Cruz David Beckham, followed on 20 February 2005 in Madrid, Spain. Both Brooklyn and Romeo's godfather is Elton John and godmother is Elizabeth Hurley. They have stated that they would like to have more children, especially a daughter.
