Full Diane Farr Biography
Diane Farr (born September 7, 1969 in New York City, New York) is an American actress. She started out as a model at the age of 12.
Farr studied drama at New York's Stony Brook University and Loughborough University in England and graduated with a joint B.A. from these two universities. Before her acting career took off, Diane Farr waited tables in a Manhattan restaurant, Brother Jimmy's BBQ, as did actress Kim Director.
She has also written a book, The Girl Code, which was released in 2001 on Valentine's Day. She is currently working on a second book. She has also written and is writing for a number of magazines.
Note: There is another Diane Farr who is the author of eight historical romance novels published by Signet (Penguin Putnam/New American Library). There is also a British author called Diana Farr, which is sometimes confused with these two.
Farr played Detective Jan Fendrich on the television series The Job, co-created by and starring Denis Leary. Following the end of that series, she appeared in a role in Rescue Me (also co-created by and starring Leary). She was a co-host of the advice program Loveline on MTV, and made guest appearances on The Drew Carey Show, CSI and Roswell. She recently left Rescue Me to appear as FBI agent Megan Reeves on the CBS math/crime drama Numb3rs. She also played Maddie Hudson on The WB’s Like Family, which only ran for a year. She also played Maria's mom on The WB's and later UPN's Roswell.
In June 2006, she married thirty-six year old entertainment marketing executive Seung Yong Chung at Rainbow Tarns, a lodge in Mammoth Lakes, California. A profile in TV Guide noted that the two were an “odd pair.”
On March 16, 2007, the couple welcomed the birth of their son, Beckett Mancuso Chung, in Los Angeles. Beckett Mancuso Chung was born at 8:56 a.m., weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 22 inches. His first name comes from Irish poet and playwright Samuel Beckett, while his middle name is a Farr family name. Beckett is the couple's first child. |
