Full Georgie Thompson Biography
Georgina 'Georgie' Thompson is a British broadcast journalist and television presenter for Sky Sports and Sky Sports News.
While attending an all-girls boarding school, she took part in junior international tennis competitions, representing England. She then studied Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds, graduating with a 2:1 in 1999.
After graduating, Thompson worked as a production assistant on a research and production scheme for GMTV before moving to Sky Sports in January 2001.
She has covered many major sporting events for the network since then, including the US Open Tennis and has been part of Sky's coverage of the A1 Grand Prix, Grand Prix Masters, Speedway World Cup and Americas Cup. In addition to this, she is a presenter on Sky Sports News, but only ever presents the "Afternoon Report" between 3pm and 7pm and no other segment.
Along with an active interest in tennis, her other interests include supporting Fulham F.C. and Formula 1.
In the May 2007 issue of the British men's magazine FHM, Georgie was voted the 93rd Sexiest Woman in the World. |
