Ann Kok released her third solo album in March 2000 and has gained acclaim for her acting skills as well as musical talent. In the annual Star Awards 2006, Ann was nominated for the Best Actress award for her performance as Jiang Ruqing in Love Concierge. The role was that of an evil and scheming woman who later suffered from depression. It was the first Best Actress nomination in her 13 year career, and she was tipped as the favourite to win the award. However, Ivy Lee bagged the award instead.
I've never really seen myself as an actress. I told myself, 'I'm not going to get a job where I need to put on makeup, or one that I need to do my nails.' I hate the idea of putting on makeup, then removing it.
