Full Mackenzie Rosman Biography
Mackenzie Ryann Rosman (born December 28, 1989) is an American child actress. She is best known for her role as Ruthie Camden on The CW's 7th Heaven.
Her parents divorced when she was little, and she currently resides in Santa Clarita, California with her mother Donna, stepfather Randy, younger brother Chandler (b. 1992), she also has an older step-sister, Katelyn Salmont (b. 1986). Also included in the mix of the household is a menagerie of cats and dogs, chickens, horses and goats.
Her greatest passion, outside of acting, is animals, especially horses, of which she owns eight. She is a competitive equestrian show jumper, and rides in jumping competitions using her horse Mentos Junior.
She is an active supporter for the fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and wishes to help educate the public about the need for organ donation. Mackenzie's stepsister, Katelyn Salmont, lives with cystic fibrosis and in late 2005 underwent a successful double lung-transplant. One organ coming from her own father Randy. Both girls were featured in Teen People's "20 Teens Who Will Change the World". 7th Heaven produced a special episode about cystic fibrosis entitled "Back in the Saddle" which featured Katelyn as herself, and Mackenzie and Katelyn rode horses together, as they do at home. In 2005, 7th Heaven again brought Katelyn on the show, post-transplant, which gave her a chance to explain about the new life she had been given.
She graduated from high school in May 2007. She has since decided to take a year's break to travel. She was in Madagascar for a month with a group of other young people to learn about the culture, the country and its people. |
