Sarah Jayne Dunn (born 25th September 1981 in Leigh, Greater Manchester) is an English actress best known for playing Mandy Hutchinson (nee Richardson) in Hollyoaks.
Dunn was educated at Lowton High School, and excelled in drama and performing arts, and a part time career as a model. When the school changed its name and became a college for sport, Sarah returned to formally open the college with the then headteacher, Mrs Susan Crosdale.
Dunn came onto the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks on the 12 September 1996, walking into the video shop in the forty-third episode. Mandy came into the village at the tender age of 14 as a "wannabe supermodel" and quickly formed a friendship with Ollie Benson.
In 2003 she appeared in the Brookside DVD special Unfinished Business and in 2004 in the fitness DVD Hollyoaks Dance workout.
After a decade playing the role Dunn left Hollyoaks in 2006. Since her departure she has filmed recurring roles in BBC One series The Innocence Project and Doctors and an appearance in the short film "Northern Cowboys" a UK Film Council co production. She will shortly begin filming the female lead in the independent film The Best Years co-starring Vinnie Jones and Billy Boyd and an episode of Drop Dead Gorgeous for BBC Three.
In September 2007 it was announced that, along with her former Hollyoaks colleague Helen Noble and theatre actor Graham Tudor she would be teaching students at a new acting school in Liverpool.
