She started off her career as a Model before making the natural transition to the silver screen. Her ad credits include ICICI bank and Alukkas Jewellery. Chitrangada hasn't acted in any movies following her marriage to India's ace golfer Jyoti Randhawa. This was a major blow to her fans in India as she had been widely touted as the next Smita Patil.
