Full John Krasinski Biography
John Burke Krasinski (born October 20, 1979) is an American actor, most widely known for playing Jim Halpert on NBC's The Office and for his role in the film License to Wed.
Krasinski, the youngest of three sons, was born in Newton, Massachusetts, the son of internist Dr. Ronald Krasinski and Mary, a nurse. He was raised in the Catholic religion. He played on the same Little League Baseball team and attended the same high school as B.J. Novak, later his co-star on The Office and also a writer and co-producer of several episodes of the show. Krasinski graduated from Newton South High School in 1997 and finished up his academic career at Brown University, where he graduated in 2002 as a playwright with honors. He then attended the National Theater Institute in Waterford, CT.
Krasinski's TV career began in 2002 as an intern on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. His first stage experience was starring in a satirical high school play written and cast by B.J. Novak. In addition to his role on The Office, Krasinski's TV credits include appearances on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Without A Trace, Ed, American Dad! (as the voice of a squirrel), and an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Krasinski's feature film credits include Kinsey, Jarhead, Duane Hopwood, and The Holiday. He also had cameos in For Your Consideration and Dreamgirls. He wrote and directed a film adaptation of David Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, which was filmed in winter 2006. |
