Full Gabriela Duarte Biography

Gabriela is the daughter of Regina Duarte and of Marcos Fl�vio da Cunha. Regina Duarte is one of the greats of Brazilian television. No other actress has been chosen so many times to star in Globo's soaps (see a summary of her career on the next page). Last year, however, Brazil's eternal sweetheart spent most of the year away from television due to stage work with her daughter Gabriela Duarte. Mother and daughter traveled the whole country and over to Portugal acting in Honra, a great commercial and critical success. It was the first time that they shared the stage with each other.
On television Regina and Gabriela have acted together on three occasions: in the soaps (Top Model (1989), Por Amor (1997/98) and the miniseries Chiquinha Gonzaga (1999). "Few remember, but in '89 I had a small part in just three episodes in the soap Top Model - which saw my daughter's debut on TV," Regina tells Maganews with her face completely made up moments before taking the stage for one more performance of Honra at the end of 2000.
