Full Brian Rosenworcel Biography
Brian Andrew Rosenworcel (born July 23, 1973) is the drummer for the band Guster. For many years, Rosenworcel played a combination of bongos, congas, djembe, hand snares and cymbals instead of using a traditional drumset. He now alternates between hand percussion and drum set.
Rosenworcel is famous in the Guster community not only for his drumming technique, but also for the authorship of the band's Road and Studio Journals, which are available for public view at Guster's website. He also goes by the nickname "Thundergod," and on at least one occasion he performed on turntables as DJ Thundergod.
Rosenworcel is the youngest member of Guster. He grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut where he was in a high-school band called Toejamb. He went on to attend Tufts University, graduating with honors with a bachelor's degree in American Studies. At Tufts, he met Ryan Miller and Adam Gardner, and they formed Guster, playing in Harvard Square among other locations. After college, Rosenworcel remained Guster's drummer. |
