Full Dale Winton Biography
Dale Winton (born May 22, 1955 in London) is an English radio DJ and television presenter. He was well known in Nottingham for his stint at Radio Trent, for his morning show from 1975 till 1984, when some kind of mix up with contracts, he did not renew. He did stints at Beacon Radio afterward. He has presented shows including Dale's Supermarket Sweep, which is currently back on our screens with the original format, and Pets Win Prizes. He is currently well known for presenting the Saturday night National Lottery show, In It To Win It. In 1997, he also presented the final of The Great British Song Contest, the UK's national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, due to a tie-in with the lottery programme. Since 2004, he has presented celebrity weight loss "boot camp" programme, Celebrity Fit Club. From April 1, 2000 to August 28, 2004 Dale hosted Pick of the Pops from 2.00-3.30 pm on Saturday afternoons on BBC Radio 2, taking over from Alan Freeman. From September 18, 2005, Dale returned to Radio 2 presenting Pick of the Pops once again, every Sunday afternoon from 3.30-5.00 pm. In April 2006, Dale guest presented the BBC's pop quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and in 1999 he had a cameo on the sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme with Kathy Burke (episode title Do They Take Sugar?). In August, 2006 he was chosen to host Endemol's new show, Show Me What You've Got.
