Full Jeremy Sisto Biography
Jeremy Merton Sisto (born October 6, 1974) is an American actor. He has had many prominent roles in movies and television, and is probably best known for his recurring role as Billy Chenowith on the HBO series Six Feet Under. Some of his memorable movies include Clueless, Suicide Kings, Thirteen, and Jesus (in the title role).
Sisto was born in Grass Valley, California to Richard Sisto, a farmer, jazz musician and educator, and Reedy Gibbs, an actress; the two divorced in 1980 and his step-father is also an actor. He has an older sister, Meadow, who got him involved in acting. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the progressive Francis W. Parker School and appeared in the movie Grand Canyon while attending high school at Parker. After studying at UCLA he started acting full time.
When he was young he appeared in the Twisted Sister video "We're Not Gonna Take It". Sisto has played various different characters in a quite impressive and still expanding number of movies. He played, for instance, a killer in Hideaway, a rich spoiled brat in Clueless and White Squall, Jesus and Julius Caesar in the eponymous mini-series, a patient diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder in Inside, a former drug addict in Thirteen, and an abusive husband in Waitress. Furthermore, Jeremy made a name as Billy, the brother of Brenda Chenowith, in the HBO series Six Feet Under.
Besides acting, Sisto discovered a new interest in working behind the scenes. In 1998, he produced the (unreleased) movie Taken, together with his friend Ethan Embry. Additionally, he made movies such as Three Women of Pain and Paranoia 1.0. In April 2003, he started his own production company, Dima Entertainment. He also appeared in (film)|The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things{2003 film], a movie about a troubled life between a boy and his biological mother. He plays the abusive "boyfriend".
In 2006, he appeared on Broadway in Festen. In June 2007 Sisto was announced as a new castmember on the crime drama Law & Order, replacing the outgoing Milena Govich.
Sisto was married to actress Marisa Ryan but they were divorced in 2002. He plays on the World Poker Tour in the Hollywood Home games. He plays for the Hollygrove House charity. |
