Josey Scott (born Joseph Scott Sappington May 3, 1972 in Memphis, Tennessee) is the lead singer of post-grunge/heavy rock band Saliva. In addition to the success associated with his band Saliva, Scott garnered fame from a duet with Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. Together, they wrote and performed "Hero", which was used as one of the theme songs to the 2002 film Spider-Man. He made a cameo appearance on Jay-Z's "Takeover" on his 2001 album The Blueprint. He has also been in two songs with Lil Wyte, "Homicidal, Suicidal" where he sings the chorus and "Crazy" where he sings the chorus and first verse. He also performed with Three Six Mafia in the song "Gettin Fucked Up".
In recent years, Josey Scott has made several acting appearances on television and film. Scott played Rodney Gronbeck, an LAPD computer expert, in the TNT television crime drama Wanted. Also, he can be seen in a cameo appearance in the film Hustle & Flow as the corner store employee, Elroy, who sells marijuana to the main character D-Jay.
He has appeared as a hidden character in video game Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003, which features three Saliva songs on the soundtrack (Raise Up, Superstar, and Superstar II (EA Mix); the third track is exclusive to the game).
Josey married Kendra Scott and had one child in 2005, Justice. He has another child, Cody, from a high school sweetheart.
