Full Masato Harada Biography

Masato Harada (原田眞人 Harada Masato, alt. 原田真人 Harada Masato, born July 3, 1949 in Numazu, Shizuoka) is a Japanese film director, critic, and sometimes an actor; he is best known to Western audiences as Omura in The Last Samurai. In both the films he acted, he usually played the villain who wants Japan to westernize under the Meiji Restoration in the meantime trying to remove the old ways.
