Full Sarah Murdoch Biography
Sarah O'Hare studied ballet as a child and started modeling at age 17 in Sydney, Australia. She has a tattoo of two dolphins on her right arm.
Sarah is also an avid fan of the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles rugby league team located on Sydney's Northern Beaches. She has generously sponsored the club with her time and money to ensure its survival and long term viability.

Murdoch succeeded Eva Herzigová as the Wonderbra model, appearing in its international ad campaign. She has also appeared in ads for Revlon and Ralph Lauren, as well as the 1999 and 2003 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Sarah filled in for Jessica Rowe on the Australian version of the popular morning news and interview show, Today. Rowe was taking four months maternity leave. Her appearance on the program sparked a 10% jump in the show's ratings, which lasted for only one day.
On March 26, 2007, it was reported in the Sydney Morning Herald that Murdoch would finish up her hosting duties on Today as of March 30, 2007. National Nine News presenter Kellie Connolly replaced Sarah, filling in for her until Rowe's return. After news that Jessica Rowe has parted ways with the network, it was possible that Murdoch could return to the co-hosting role on Today. Instead, Lisa Wilkinson took over the co-host role.
Murdoch was a guest host on the 4 October 2007 episode of Today alongside Karl Stefanovic to raise awareness about Breast Cancer as she is a patron of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
She is heavily engaged in assisting not-for-profit arts and charitable bodies, where her name and connections add gravitas and fund-raising capacity. She was appointed International Ambassador of the Australian Ballet Company in 2004 and became a director of the ballet in February 2006. She is also ambassador of the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (appointed in 2000) and a member of its development board.
In 1999, Murdoch married Lachlan Murdoch, son of Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Prior to 2003, Lachlan and Sarah were owners of "Berthong", a house in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney, which was subsequently bought by Russell Crowe. The couple live in Sydney, Australia and have two sons, Kalan Alexander (born in 2004) and Aidan Patrick (born on 6 May 2006). |
