Full Olivier Martinez Biography
Olivier Martinez (born January 12, 1966) is a French film actor. He became known after roles in several French films, and has also appeared in Hollywood-produced features, including Unfaithful.
Martinez was born in Paris, France to a working-class family. His father was a Spanish professional boxer born in Morocco and his mother was a French secretary. He studied at the prestigious CNSAD and began his acting career in his native France in 1990, and quickly achieved success.Paul (Olivier Martinez) and Constance (Diane Lane) share an intimate moment.
In 1994, Martinez won a César Award as "Most Promising Actor" for his role in Un, Deux, Trois, Soleil, (1993). He first came to mainstream attention in Hollywood films with his performance opposite Diane Lane in Unfaithful (2002). He has since appeared in a television adaptation of The Roman Spring of Mrs Stone (2003), S.W.A.T. (2003) and Taking Lives (2004).
Martinez lived with his costar in The Horseman on the Roof (Le Hussard sur le Toit), Juliette Binoche for three years, and their relationship was widely reported by the French press. He was then linked to Mira Sorvino, a Hollywood actress for four years. He has recently ended a four year relationship with Australian Dance-pop singer Kylie Minogue. In late January 2007 Britain's News of the World tabloid claimed the couple's four-year relationship was on the rocks and alleged Martinez, 41, had been unfaithful, though Kylie Minogue denies it. On 3 February 2007, they announced their split saying their decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable. He has recently been linked to American actress Michelle Rodriguez by tabloid newspapers. |
