Rupert Penry-Jones (born 22 September 1970, London) is an English actor best known for his role as Adam Carter in the British television series Spooks.
His father is Peter Penry-Jones, his mother is actress Angela Thorne and his brother Laurence Penry-Jones is also an actor.
In 1995 he appeared with his mother on television in Cold Comfort Farm. He attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. His performance in "Don Carlos" with the Royal Shakespeare Company earned him the Ian Charleson Award. In 1998 he created the role of The Boy in Edward Albee's play The Play About the Baby at the Almeida Theatre, where he caused a sensation running nude across the stage with an erect penis.
He has previously dated singer Kylie Minogue. He married actress Dervla Kirwan in August 2007 after a 3 year engagement. Dervla gave birth to their daughter Florence on 1 May 2004. Their son Peter was born 8 April 2006.
