| Mehgan Heaney-Grier is about as close as one can get to a modern-day mermaid. At the age of 23 Mehgan is already an accomplished model, actress and spokeswoman for several major companies. But in 1996 she achieved new fame when she established the first ever United States freedive record for both men and women by diving unassisted, to a depth of 155 ft on a single breath of air.
