"Here's a man who seems to have only value for clever words, written or spoken. His understanding of the depth of his wasted life and harmful impact inflicted upon his wife and children, not to mention an apparent lack of understanding of how his jolly little "dipping his wick" into countless Indian women perpetuates a s** slave trade notorious in that country. He writes with a prideful humor for a lifetime of drunkenness and whoring as though it's an accomplishment. The only indication of what he might have respect for is his ability to consume massive amounts of alcohol. Episode after episode of excessive drinking, though written with a wry wit, does not make a book worth reading much less a life led. I feel a deep sorrow for this pathetic, lost man."
