"I purchased this movie with a little trepidation, considering that it was selling at a lower price than other brand new movies. Also considering that other reviewers were slamming it. Five minutes into the movie, I knew this trepidation was wasted. The movie is a great retelling of the classic story. Guy Pearce does a wonderful job of showing what a great actor he is. The graphics are stunning and the look at the way distant future is very original. If you collect DVD's, this is one to definitely add to the collection. You will defintely not regret having spent the time on this wonderful movie."
"If you like british gangster movies, this one wont let you down. it's got a great cast. roger daltrey from the who even does a small part, as does eriq la salle from er and vinnie jones from snatch and lock stock. solid reggae throughout, lots of action seens, a few amazing car chases through europe a la ronin... i'd rent it again on a rainy night."
"I must admit I was not expecting too much for this one picking it up at the dvd store. I had never heard of the thing and it looked like yet american teen horror flick but boy was I wrong!
First of all, it was not an american film (not that I have anything against american films or anything) but that meant no whiney teenage girls who say 'like' every other word - excellent! Secondly, the script is intellegent, funny and very clever. Thirdly, the actors were brilliant and not annoying like usual teen flicks.
If you loved 'shaun of the dead' you'll eat this one up. Thoroughly enjoyable and thrillingly gory. Five stars from me. Enjoy!"
"But this one has a different spin to it. This film shows the seedy underbelly of London like most of those hi gloss ones don't. And while Layer Cake, Lock Stock, etc. are great this film has an authenticity and feel that the others cant match. I dont know how the director got such good chemistry from this diverse cast, but all I can say is.....hats off. This is an exciting but thought provoking action/crime flick I would recommend to anyone."
