The Hidden

"'The Hidden' is usually placed in the horror section of the videostore, which is a genre I don't usually watch. The only reason I picked this one up is because Siskel and Ebert said it was one of their secret pleasures. This movie is so much more than a horror film! It's witty and funny, satirical as well as full of pathos. Even though I've got this film in widescreen VHS, I'm going to get the DVD version because of the commentary track; I really want to know why the filmmakers made certain choices and what they think of them now that the film's several years old."

Queen of the Damned

"I saw Queen of the Damned yesterday at a special screening of it. overall the movie was really good, good story, and good actors. the thing that impressed me the most was the fact that jonathan davis did ALL the music in that movie (the lead singer of KoRn), and that made the movie great. good job at creating a movie from a book. but the book nerds wont like this one as much. you don't even have to see interview with the vampire to get this movie, or even read the books. good movie overall."

Clean and Sober

"Its a shame that Warner Brothers dismissed this excellent film, probably the best they released in the '80's, with a shoddy transfer and no extras. The DVD menu does not even have a graphic from the film but instead their obnoxious WB gold logo. At least a trailer would be nice. I'm not asking for a 7 disc Criterion Collection edition with 40 hours of supplemental footage or anything. They did this with Driving Miss Daisy' also. No widescreen either. Nonetheless, the DVD does exist. Hopefully, Warner will do a better job with After Hours when they get around to transfering that."

Untamed Heart

"Sure we've seen Christian Slater in the rough movies, sure Marisa Tomei has been the pseudo-sophisticated, gum cracking chick in My Cousin Vinny; and of course Rosie Perez bit off juicier movie roles in White Men Can't Jump and Fearless. But here each actor is completely out of character [but in a great departure from their usual parts] in their portrayals of small town young people struggling to make a living (and an impact somehow in their own lives). There's one disturbing scene of abuse, but otherwise Untamed Heart is a sensitive, gentle love story with genuine performances by talented actors. It will touch you and make you both laugh and cry."
