Jerry O'Connell starred in his first film "Stand By Me" (1986) at the age of 11. After that success he went back to school and did not become a full-time actor until he graduated from college. He originally was cast for the role of Bailey in "Party of Five" (1995), but was begged by the network to fill in when their lead for "Sliders" (1995) backed out. He opted for the "Sliders" role instead and the rest is history....

"Angelica Huston rocks in Buffalo Girls, in which she plays Calamity Jane. This movie plays fast and loose with history and fiction, but what good 'true' movie doesn't. A great take on a woman's perspective of the Old West."

Stand By Me
"I purchased the Special Edition of this movie recently and couldn't believe that the audio was monophonic. I was thus pleasantly surprised to see that in this edition of the DVD they restored the original multi-channel soundtrack. Even the casual listener will notice the difference immediately. To my knowledge the movie itself is the same as on the Special Edition (no added or cut scenes) so I won't waste your time commenting on that. I just wanted to bring attention to the fact that the Deluxe Edition of this movie is the ONLY one any serious movie collector should consider."

"one of the great comic films of the 70's, when guys like clint and burt ruled. this is clint's 'bandit.' fine performances by all with the possible exception of sondra locke. her singing is extremely bad. still highly recommended. don't let some left wing peta nut ruin it for you. enjoy it."
