Nancy Kwan was just 18, studying dance with England's Royal Ballet School, when she was spotted by producer Ray Stark, who tested her and gave her the starring role of a free-spirited Hong Kong prostitute who captivates artist William Holden in "The World of Susie Wong" (1960). She followed it the next year with the hit musical "Flower Drum Song" and became one of Hollywood's most visible Asian actresses.

"Nancy as an alluring tomboy? Slightly silly plot, but nevertheless worth watching- especially for the opening scene, in which Nancy takes a long underwater swim wearing only a native dress. (No flippers, googles or air-tank for our girl!) Rarely has a woman looked so lovely."
"Night creature is one of those trademark late 70s movies that moves so slow it becomes uncomfortable waiting for something to happen. and even when it does, it is so poorly filmed and edited, you don't really see much of what's going on. add the wearisome storyline of a great hunter who loves hunting more than his two daughters, bring them together on a deserted island with a deadly black leopard and talk the audience to death. that's basically all night creature accomplishes. donald pleasance is ludicrously inept as axel mcgregor, who brings the captured leopard to his island to kill it; and nancy kwan fares little better as one of his daughters. dull and tedious, little to recommend."
"I don't see what is all the fuss about this video.
It's good family fun for all and DVD digital transfer is far more vivid than any VHS format out there. Widescreen or Pan and Scan? Why punish yourself by waiting for widescreen when pan and scan delivers the goods just as well. With all these mixed reviews I was afraid to buy the video. I am glad that I decided to take a chance and purchase it anyhow. Enjoyed it thoroughly (both in content and quality). So relax, buy the movie and enjoy."
"For my final critic,i've made a nice pick with this**cellent documentary, that has**cerps of all of the duo's screen adaptations ,along with some footage of d*** and oscar on groucho marx show(he makes fun of their names)and some scenes never seen before ,like frank sinatra singing a song from carousel.to present this, they choose actors who were in these movies:shirley jones, julie andrews, rita moreno ,and even the girl who dubbed deborah kerr for the king and i.a documentary well worth seeing ,that can certainly be the start for future fans to be.you'll have fun seeing screen adaptations in different countries.there is no doubt today that rodgers and hammerstein are part of the american culture heritage, it's no wonder that time made them entertainer of the century."
