"Well i saw the julie newmar movie, Meckanne's Gold and her performance was too good. She appealed me so much. She is tall and too damn sexy in her thirtees. I wish i would have been young in those days i could have been her fan. She is gergeous and sexy. too good."
"This was one of the most uplifting movies I've ever seen. After seeing the movie Seven, I went to see To Wong Foo and laugh from the beginning to the end. The outfits were just wonderful. I especially loved Patrick Swayze's clothes. John Leguziamo was just sassy as Miss Chi Chi. Wesley Snipps had it going on as Noxema Jackson. I've seen this movie so many times I can recite the whole script. Director Beeban Kidron did an excellent job. Stockard Channing's performance was excellent as Caroline. This is the perfect movie for depression. Im still hoping for a sequel. If it doesn't happen, I will never get tired of re-watching To Wong Foo Thanks for everything Julie Newmar."
"I don't understand the other reviews. This movie is not funny. The acting is atrocious and the story cliched. The quality of this Image DVD is also bad. The colors are dull and the sound is so soft I had to max out my volume.I couldn't watch this. It's not even suitable for family viewing. There are some very crude(not funny or creative) moments. The only explanation for the good reviews is if the Hudson brothers are reviewing incognito."
"This movie is one of those rare perfect films. Casting is brilliant (especially Stockard Channing, who only gets better and better as the years go by--and she was always totally incapable of less than a fantastic performance). The general plot line of the movie is a congenial road trip, as three drag queens drive from New York City to California to compete in a contest, and the themes are fulfilling. In essence, the movie deals with the healing of 'broken people.' (For other such films, see such gems as 'Batteries Not Included' and 'Fried Green Tomatoes.') The unlikely angels? The three drag queens. The situation? Their car breaks down in a red-neck hamlet. Unlikely hijinks and dangerous confrontations lead to a satisfying conclusion. And Julie Newmar was never better!"
"A movie like this was made for Sunday mornings. It's full of catchy songs and great dancing in the grand tradition of musicals. The wide screen format is very nice, and allows for the full spectacle to be seen. This is one of the first musicals to incorporate the music and dancing into the story line, as oppossed to random numbers. The barn raising scene is classic. The DVD itself is very worthy, and includes a 'making of' documentary. Great interviews with Julie Newmar (Catwoman) and other cast members."
"Okay.. When you look at the cover for this movie..you must be thinking 'i would watch this because? '... And i thought that too when my two friends and i saw it at the video store... But it was there.. And we just had to watch it.. It looked so stupid lol.. And we watched it.. And for some reason.. We would laugh at everything... Maybe we were acting stupid.. But it was a fun experience.. And we still watch it ocasionally... because for some reason.. We can't stop laughing.. I think its one of those silly movies that you got to get a group of your close friends and watch it.. But i dont recommend it if you are searching for a serious, oscar worthy movie lol.. Just to make new memories... And after your done watching it.. You can think 'what did i just watch? '"
"This film is a must-see for any dancer. The clips used to showcase different types of dancing in film are creatively woven together and the commentary is very informative. Many famous scenes from the old MGM musicals to the water spray scene in Flashdance are used to illustrate how diversified dancing in films can be. For ballet dancers, there is a portion devoted solely to ballet in films which is hosted by Mikhail Baryshnikov. Scenes of Rudolph Nureyev leaping through the air compliment this section as well as scenes from various ballets. Liza Minelli hosts the Broadway inspirational portion which is shorter in length. I only saw this film once but I feel that it is a must-own selection for any dancer."
