Pure Country

"I could identify with the dislike of all the supposed necessary glitz of an entainer. Country Western music is not my most favorite but this movie had a human realistic quality to it that touches the heart. It is so possible to see how a man can get so caught up in the road shows glitz and fans that he ends up blanking out. So many entertainers ruin their lives because they lose all sense of reality. George Strait made an excellent choice in Pure Country and if he never makes another this will be forever remembered. Innocence and reality -- what a great combination."

The Limey

"The Limey is, quite simply, one of the best movies of last year and possibly one of the best of the revenge noir genre. Terence Stamp and Peter Fonda are mighty gods throwing lightning bolts of nostalgia and regret in a maelstrom of non-linear editing so severe it'll make your eyes water with joy. Movies like this exist to restore your faith in the cinematic process as a whole. The Limey is a big slice of cheesecake to wash down the horrible choking slime of movies like 'Payback' Also worth acquiring due to the commentaries, the first being a prolonged, amusing and mixed up argument between soderbergh (god) and lem dobbs (satan) and the second being everyone else. It is quite simply a masterpiece. To ignore it is to turn your back on manna from heaven."

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella

"This 1964 version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella was a childhood favorite of mine. After I became a grown-up with a VCR, I purchased a copy of the tape, and found thati**tood the test of time, and only enhanced my memories. Lesley Anne Warren, at the tender age of 16, is fabulous as Cinderella, and Stuart Damon as Prince Charming is romantic. Fabulous stars of days gone by are also featured: Walter Pidgeon and Ginger Rogers as the King and Queen, Celeste Holm as the Fairy Godmother, and Jo Van Fleet as the wicked stepmother are all superb. This is a film that never loses its appeal over the generations."

The Happiest Millionaire

"How often do you find a millionaire that is actually happy? Well, Fred MacMurray shows that if you can be yourself, regardless of your money, then you can be happy. I watched this movie as a child, but haven't seen it for years. I was so thrilled to rediscover it here, and be able to buy it for my little girl. As the first scene began, I found myself singing along to songs that I didn't know I remembered. If you want to introduce your young children (the younger the better) to some old classic musicals, you should start with this one (and Mary Poppins). The wit and charm of these old classic movies is definately lacking in todays world of film. All in all, this movie is hilarious, well cast, well written, and fun. "

Columbo - The Complete Fourth Season

"I will be getting this fourth season of Columbo...The best episodes of this season are: Troubled Waters with Robert Vaughn, By Dawn's Early Light with Patrick McGoohan who won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his single appearance in Columbo, Playback with Oskar Werner, An Exercise in Fatality with Robert Conrad, Negative Reaction with di** Van Dyke and A Deadly State of Mind with George Hamilton...Have all three seasons looking forward to the fourth season on March 14, 2006 and other seasons as well."
