"This movie is very good, I haven't seen the original yet and even if I do ever get to see it and I like it I will still like this wonderful modern remake, I have always liked Dyan Cannon and I thought she was great in this movie and so was Kris Kristofferson, I really hope that someday this movie is put on DVD! As far as remakes go this is probably one of the better remakes and I recommend it to anyone who collects Christmas movies!"
"This work, narrated by Gene Kelley, is devoted to the cinema musicals, starting with seldom seen footage of the silent era, and continuing with the fantastic dancing scenes of Busby Berkley. Next we move on to the Fred Astaire period, which centers attention on the individual dancer. We see beautiful performances from the likes of Ginger Rogers, Ruby Keeler as well as the incomparable Nicholas Brothers. With the advent of color, comes a never previously seen number on the 'yellow brick road' with Judy Garland and Ray Bolger. Not to forget a marvellous routine by Shirley Temple and Bojangles Robinson! Alltogether, this is the most memorable series of dance sequences that I have ever seen in half a century."
"The Ref one of my favorite movies, holiday or not. Dennis Leary is at his sarcastic best as a cat burgler trying to survive a bungled job. Not only is he on the run from the law, he is trapped with the family from HELL when he holds hostage Lloyd and Caroline and eventually their whole disfunctional family. Kevin Spacey wasn't a household name yet at this time, but he gives a stellar performance and the whipped, frustrated Lloyd. Judy Davis is also excellent as the neurotic Caroline. Give this movie a try, you won't be sorry."
"I have seen the original 1945 Christmas in Connecticut movie that starred Barbara Stanwyck, I taped it when it was shown on TCM and there is no doubt that it is a wonderful movie that is very underated when it comes to Christmas classics but I also liked the 1992 made for cable remake and no it wouldn't win an Emmy Award but it was a pretty charming movie and every year I try to buy at least one Chrismas movie on DVD for my collection and this past Christmas of 2004 I bought this movie on DVD and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Christmas movies. "This movie starts in the most smooth of ways and it carries for the first thirty minutes. It's just very well synchronised and there were around 10-15 minutes where not a single dialogue were spoken. It keeps the viewer interested. It looks like a simple movie in the end. It perfectly fits the three star grade but that doesnt mean its a bad movie. It's just thati** probably one of the best three start movies you will see.
Ed Harris acts really well in this film and there's this certain level of professionalism I notice in Sir Clint Eastwood which is what I appreciate about him.
An Average story played out in a great way.
Watch it no matter what.Definitely worth your 2 hours.

"Director Sofia Coppola's follow-up to her excellent 'Lost in Translation' is a jaw-dropping disaster. 'Marie Antoinette' has everything money can buy -- except focus and pacing. Coppola doesn't know whether she's making a detailed historical drama or a postmodern satire for the MTV generation. Instead, the film goes nowhere very slowly. The 123-minute running time should have been slashed in half. Kirsten Dunst does her best under trying circumstances, while a strangely miscast Jason Schwartzman does his worst. Beautiful cinematography and an eclectic soundtrack are utterly wasted. I want my two hours back -- or the producers can send me a free round-trip ticket to Versailles."
