"This movie is mainly showing Evel's co**y, crazy and rude character. It only shows a few little clips of a few jumps and the viewing quality is very poor. Also some of the movie is filmed at dark and is so blurry that you can't make out what is going on. There is also quite a bit of cursing on this movie. Save your money and get a differant version."
"Christopher Lee stars as an alien being who has made himself look like a catholic priest. He and six of his comrades, who have taken the form of nuns, are causing geologic disturbances around the world. Thankfully, a scientist and his wife (Sue 'Lolita' Lyon) are on the case! Can they save the world before it explodes?? EOTW plays like a mystery w/ sci-fi trappings, until the 'shocking' conclusion. Watch for an ancient Dean Jagger (Revolt Of The Zombies, X The Unknown) and a nearly unrecognizable Lew Ayres (Donovan's Brain) in small parts. Lee isn't bad as the alien leader, although he did make me think of Drac whenever he was on camera! P.S.- This movie has quite possibly THE most downbeat ending in movie history!... "
"This film is a true classic and captures the magic that was Evel Knievel. George Hamilton does a fantastic job portraying Knievel as a larger than life icon--a true American Hero. This is a must see for ALL Knievel or Hamilton fans."
"I agree with the previous review. This is a very cool film of the early 70's, clearly designed to promote Evel and his planned jump of the Grand Canyon (he had to settle for the Snake River Canyon in Idaho instead.) But this is quite simply the worst DVD transfer I have ever seen. The video quality is terrible. For a few bucks you might consider snatching this up, but don't expect much quality wise. On the other hand, this is my favorite George Hamilton performance, although he doesn't really look like Evel, he really nails the performance. John Milius co-wrote the script early in his career."
"Not as bright and crisp as Lady In Cement but a delight all the same. Frank Sinatra plays Tony Rome with a touch of down at the heels class. Jill St John takes lines that would be cheesy in the hands of a less capable actress and makes them ring with humor and mirth. It's a toss up who gets the best line: Sinatra's 'Oh I'll have some of that.' or St John's 'sl**?' It won't educate you or lift your moral fiber buti** a great popcorn movie. (Home viewers may find that some other sort of diversion comes to mind after the fifth or sixth 'Malcom . . .')Thirty years and counting and this one hasn't lost any of its appeal."
"Tony Rome is one of Sinatra's best underrated performances.
He is a Miami PI hired by a millionaire to do clean up when the rich man daughter is found in a hotel room. This turns into a dead ex partner in Rome's office.
Rome is a hardboiled detective like Phillip Marlowe or Spenser style. Rome could have been a great series for Frank, however only one sequal Lady in Cement was made...too bad. This fast paced movie was witty and slick. With Sinatra in the driver's seat, you know you are watching a winner
