"Not to jump on the band-wagon here, but I would have to agree with the other reviewers. Had I purchased this instead of waiting for the 'free view' on Cartoon Network I would be of all men, most miserable. I absolutely love Batman, Batman Beyond, Superman and Justice League and this production was a huge disappointment. The Luthor and Braniac voices were awful...the story was weak...buy the second season of Justice League instead."
"I love every second of this film. Elvis is at his peak and Shelley Fabares is at her most beautiful. The supporting cast is also great: Gary Crosby, Jimmy Hawkins, Joby Baker, Nita Talbot, Harold J. Stone, Chris Noel, Mary Ann Mobley. Every song is great and the chemistry between Elvis & Shelley really shows strong here. No Elvis movie collection should be complete without his best film. I give it an 11 out of 10!"
"Brian's Song is one of the saddest movies ever made, based on the too-true story of the black/white friendship between Gale Sayer and Brian Piccolo. James Caan does a credible, if self-absorbed job as Brian -- his sickly scenes definitely do not hold up as well as you might remember, and though this movie definitely looks and sounds dated, it still packs a powerful emotional punch, in the same way that Terms of Endearment does. Beware: you are headed for very rough waters. And that Michel Legrand theme song, a classic for the ages, turns the nozzle to full-tilt. That final still image remains firmly etched in my mind, and the special relationship engendered here carries a special weight as one of the first of its kind ever seen in a film."
"In 1964 three friends went to the show to see a surf movie for the first time. We returned to see this movie over and over again, (7 times to be exact). Being young and impressionable we wanted to be like Fabian, Tab Hunter, and Peter Brown riding Big Waves in Hawaii and falling in 'Love' with girls like Susan Hart, Shelley Fabares and Barbara Eden. This movie made our summer of '64 a fantasy summer, we went to the beach, tried to surf, listened to Jan & Dean, The Beach Boys and dreamt of the girls in 'Ride the Wild Surf'. By todays standards this movie seems 'Hokie', but for three fourteen year old boy's in 1964 it was a movie and Summer to remember."
"On November 30, 1971, Brian's Song aired on television for the first time. I was in labor and wouldn't leave for the hospital until the movie was over. I had my daughter at 1:17 A.M., December 1, 1971.Several years ago I purchased Brian's Song on video.Last week, my daughter invited me to come over to her house on the evening of November 30, 2001 and bring the video. She said that we would watch the movie together just like we did 30 years ago! This movie will always be special to us."
"The BEST Elvis movie by far finally get's it's DVD treatment - classic beach-party Elvis with great cameo's and hot 60's chicks. For Elvis music fanatics, notice the piano coda on 'Puppet on a String' in the middle of the movie...it will bring tears."
