Picking Up the Pieces

"One could easily bear the fact that this movie seems to fullfill the whole range of mexican-related stereotypes, after all it has happened before in Hollywood, but casting Woody Allen, Cheech Marin, Maria Grazia Cuccinota, David Schwimmer, Lou Diamond Philips for delivering these superficial caracthers in the context of an absolutely stupid story is sacrilege.I am glad this movie never made it to the big screen.I hope that Woody never gets to see it, or he'll need another 50 years of therapy.We see jokes failing helplessly one after another.As the pythons would put it: a complete waste of time!! If you want to see some real Mexican point of view, I reccomend Amores Perros.A little darker, perhaps."

Close to Jesus

"I do not own this dvd but I have seen all four episodes on an Italian station about 3/4 years ago. I really enjoyed watching them especially the ones about Judas and Thomas. The actor who plays Jesus is Danny Quinn, the son of the late Anthony Quinn."

The Bible - Solomon

"Now I have to say that 3 of these movies are absolutly great, but the genesis one is a stinker! Esther, Jeremiah and Soloman are all dramatisations of the Biblical stories with great actors who put in brilliant performances. Genesis is a bunch of weird looking guys just walking around with a boring narration. And the narration does not even match what is on screen half the time. If Ed Wood did a Biblical epic it would look like Genesis!Ok, glad I got that off my chest. Buy the box set, use Genesis for a frisbee!"
