"This movie was good. But in saying that, there were a couple of places that I feel were compromised and it lacked integrity, but other than that, wow! But the reason above is my reason for only 4 stars. Like some Christian movies, I really didn't know what to expect. This was just as good as any boxing movie I've ever seen. It was a great message and I'd recommend it to anybody, including a non-believer. I was inspired by Orlando's faith and dare to stand up to the heat when the odds were against him."
"City of Lost Children is a Japanese contemporary version of Bonnie and Clyde. Kei is about to be deported, but her boyfriend Mario steps in between the law and rescues her in order for them to set sail for freedom. In order to reach freedom they need to buy a couple of very expensive tickets through a crook who has specialized in helping criminals leave the country. Thus, Kei and Mario attempt to rob the mafia in order to get the money for the trip. However, somehow they end up with the Yakuza's cocaine instead and they have to run from the law as well as the crime element. City of Lost Souls is a changing story that jumps everywhere and at times does not make sense at all. Nevertheless, the cinematography is magnificent, which adds some spice to the overall experience."
"Carmen is eleictrifing. Movies are made to make you forget your everyday ups and downs and bring you to another place. I fill this movie does just that. It takes you thru one mans trials and tribulations and shows you another side to every story. I personally think one of the greatest boxing stories of the 20 century or that of any century. Carmen is well on his way of becoming a good actor. I highly recomend this movie for people of all ages."
"As my second favorite Takashi Miike film to date, it's quite a sweet love story amongst gratuitous violence and bizarre characters. In Japanese, Portuguese and Chinese, this is an ultra cool movie with a myriad of wierd Miike characters, drugs, guns and blood. You get the picture if you like the Miike, which I do...contains a ping pong scene which you won't soon forget. Remember playas, this is Takashi Miike here...my homie..."
"This is a fabulous telenovela! I have even given this one to friends as a gift. I enjoyed this one from beginning to end. Some of the episodes are condensed but it really doesn't hurt the continuity of the video. This video was filmed in the Yucatan area and the scenery is breathtaking. I would highly recommend this video. This is a beautiful as well as entertaining video. The actors are attractive also. This is one of best!"
"The telenovela was great, I don't need to tell you that we all know it. Passion, love, hate everything are there! But the dvd is very badly edited, so many great scenes cut, so many moments are not shown fully. You can't really get a taste of apuesta por un amor with just the dvd."
