"First let me say to the guy that said Mario must have turned in his grave, he was alive and involved with this production when it was filmed. You should research before making a fool commment and then following it by a stab at mentally handicapped people, you must be quite the human being! Anyway, like was said this picks up where 'The Last Don' left off. Not bad for Television and if you are a fan of Mob-style movies, this is a great endcap to the Mario Puzo legacy. I always thought Joe Mantenga stole the show in 'The Last Don' and it's great to have him reprise his role again although the focus is mainly on the younger generation. This may not be 'The Sopranos' but very entertaining none the less."
"Hanover Street portrays young Harrison Ford at his romantic best. As a fearless fighter pilot in WWII stationed in England he meets and falls in love with a gorgeous Leslie-Ann Down who tries to hide the fact that she is married to Spy Master Christopher Plummer. Harrison loses his edge in flying fearlessly as he gains his affection for Down. He is assigned to take an England officer into Germany to uncover the identity of a double-spy. The plane crashes and the two end up escaping the French countryside together. That union is fateful, funny and touching. This movie is for the romantic at heart. I've seen it several times!"
"Having watched this drama, I can recomend it highly to anyone who wishes to purchase it. It catches the characters in there historical background perfectly and the acting is superb. You will be delighted with it should you buy it."
"This DVD set is a great entertainment value. Unfortunately, the set advertises closed captions but my new JVC television with closed caption ability shows no closed captions for any of the titles. The BBC productions really need subtitles for the hearing impaired. For some reason they don't have a policy of adding this enhancement to their DVDs'."
"After reading George Eliot's masterpiece, Silas Marner, I rented this video from my local library. I was presently surprised to see that the movie followed the basic pattern of the book. Though there were a few variances, for the most part Ben Kingsley did a masterful job of bringing Silas Marner to life. Kingsley's portrayal of the old miser was stunning. However, the best acting came from the young lady who portrayed the heroin-addicted wife of Godfrey Cass. The love between Eppie and Silas was almost felt by the viewers. Kingsley is a most remarkable actor, and this is one movie that you should purchase for your own collection. END"
"Great sequel...Mario Puzo really knows how to depict the life of a mobster in a 90's kind of way...Great drama and action...Perhaps the greatest Mafia duo movies I've ever scene...part one is great as well!"
