"This is a great film. Anyone looking for a review of the actual film may look in any number of places and find that everyone agrees that it is outstanding.HOWEVER, I failed to read the complete description for the DVD, foolishly assuming that the film would be presented in the appropriate widescreen format. I was shocked and appalled to receive the DVD and find that it was the pan 'n' scan version. This is entirely unacceptable. I returned the DVD and will wait for a letterboxed version. Do not make the same mistake I made. If you have any interest in seeing this film as it was originally intended, and not 'modified to fit your screen,' do not purchase this DVD."
"Chris' own performances are top-notch, his guest musicians (such as Gladys Knight) are a knock-out, and the video and audio quality of this Blu-ray disc are stunning. The 24-bit PCM 5.1 audio track is absolutely reference-quality in every regard. Demo-material ati** best, especially given the fantastic performance material."
"Out of nine Blu-Ray disks I've had pleasure to watch so far, this one has the best picture quality.
This is Chris Botti's Los Angeles jazz concert recording. The things Chris does with his beat-up trumpet are very difficult and remarkable.
There are some great guests performing. Holy molly, I did not know that girl from the 'Still Standing' TV sitcom could sing.
The musicians' work is simply awesome. The guy on the piano is impeccable, and that drum solo towards the end is out of this world.

"Having read raving review at Hi Def Digest that calls this a reference quality disc, I bought it. I will be more cautious next time in following their advices: this looks worse than an upscaled DVD. Music and performances are top notch, but we buy Blu-ray discs for picture too, and here, the picture quality is awfull. Sharpnes vibrates all the time, edge enhancement is unbearale sometimes, colors are all over the place... Very disappointing..."
"According to the Fox Store, this DVD also contains the 1925 silent version of Lost World, with Wallace Berry, Lewis Stone (Judge Hardy), and Bessie Love. A DVD of this film is available from Image Entertainment, but costs as much as this DVD. I've never seen the 1960 version, but with Raines, Rennie, and Lamas together, how bad can it be?"
"This movie is so good, it's finally here in the US in a special edition both fans and newcomers should pick up. While the second disc of extras is nice (the cinematography extra is probably the most informative of the bunch) the real treat here is having the director's cut.
This cut of the film actually helped me to better understand the plot (as well as clearly explaining the rules of the game of poker played in the film). And it's not that much longer, just long enough that a fan of the film will notice the 'new' parts.
I already own the UK release of this dvd and i'm glad that finally it's available in R1 for more people to experience."
