Prom Queen
"Don't be fooled by this campy title. John L'Ecuyer's 'Prom Queen' is a necessary and heart-warming tale of the charming high school student Marc (Aaron Ashmore) taking on the Canadian Supreme Court, a homophobic school environment, and the Catholic Church in order to bring his boyfriend to prom. Even though some parts, particularly the ending, seem a bit too picture-perfect, don't worry: this film is totally believable and the plot and script remain solid and interesting throughout. Not to mention the actors are absolutely adorable and talented. s**y and humorous, political and educational, Prom Queen should be required viewing in every high school. "

The Kids in the Hall: The Pilot Episode
"While it is true that you can see half of the pilot in the season one DVD, and while it is true that the special features do have some information that KITH fans have heard a million times before, there can be no question that buying the DVD of the pilot episode is worth your time, money, and whatever tears gather in your eyes from missing Bruce McCulloch's presence in the bonus features. The pilot contains many sketches you just cannot see anywhere else--including 'Naked for Jesus,' featuring a delightful expanse of bare Kids' bums--and, happily, a visual commentary, where the guys talk about how sketches were written, how young they look, how much they look like their mothers when in drag and other priceless musings. Long live the Kids."

The Kids in the Hall: The Pilot Episode
"This is a great addition to your Kids in the hall collection, Bruce is sadly missing from the bonus features, but the Pilot looks great! Skits that haven't aired since it's original broadcast on HBO back in the 80's. Only thing that kinda mis lead me was the running time is 120minutes. I thought that was just the pilot***elf, but*** 120 for everything (the Pilot, the bonus Q and A and Trivia recordings, the slide show, and the Pilot with the visual commentary. The Pilot episode itself is only 45 Minutes. This is still a great purchase! I Loved The Kids in the Hall Growing up and It's still one of my Top favorite TV Shows. DVD is nicely put together."

Carrie
"Let's not call this a remake of Brian DePalma's movie. It's a remake of Stephen King's novel. I'm not terribly fond of the DePalma film, and all in all I prefer this version. As another reviewer noted, it is a more faithful adaptation. This ceases to be the case at some point very near the end, though, which was a bit strange, but it doesn't bother me because I understand the point of the changes. Angela Bettis is an outstanding Carrie, and Patricia Clarkson as her mother gives a quiet, scary performance, which is a nice tonic for the entirely-too-over-the-top one Piper Laurie gave in DePalma's film. By no means is this a perfect film, and if you want the best version of the story you should still seek out Stephen King's novel, but it is enjoyable and well-made."

Firestorm: Last Stand at Yellowstone
"This is an excellent story. Richard Burgi and Scott Foley do a great job in telling of the forest fire fighters and their families. I enjoyed the extras of how Yellowstone was formed as well."
