Kiss of Death

"At the time of it's release it was the best Mob movie since Goodfellas.But by no means can you even compare Kiss of Death to either Goodfellas , King of New York or Casino.It's a decent mob movie w/ great actors such as Nicholas Cage and Samuel L. Jackson who plays a cop that gets shot in the face by Dave Caruso in the opening minutes.If you haven't heard of this movie and if your a Nic Cage fan watch this movie you won't be disappointed and you can't beat the price."

Kiss of Death

"All right, so he's not the most convincing goon. It's still amusing to see him in this role. I'd say these nay-sayers need to lighten up. As a poor country boy unfamiliar with the urban crime cliches and plot twists, I can honestly say I enjoyed this movie. No, it's no masterpiece, but it is entertaining enough to be worth seeing, even buying at such a reasonable price. Caruso and (as they all admit) a fine supporting cast do very well with a now conventional plot that is at least not as droll as they say. This is probably the first time I've rated something higher than others. Strange."

Rebus - Set 1

"Set in Scotland this is a BBC television series starring John Hannah as an Edinburgh Homicide Detective. Well written and very well acted. Shows the seedy side of Scotland the tourists don't see. The Scottish accents are hard to understand at times but the story lines more than make up for it. Highly Recommended..!!"

"Frankly I enjoyed this film. I love Helen Hunt and Samuel L.Jackson. I thought that Nicholas Cage seemed a little bit amateur but as this film is 11 years old, perhaps he was at the time or perhaps it was just the psychotic role that he was interpreting. On the whole, I found it engrossing and quite exciting."

Rebus - Set 1

"Ken Stott looks the part of Rebus more than John Hannah, and Claire Price DEFINITELY looks the part of Siobhan more than Gayanne Potter. The supporting cast is equally effective, and the stories (Ian Rankin's The Falls and Fleshmarket Close) are translated to the screen reasonably well. Still, things are definitely lacking here. Gone was every ounce of Rebus' ongoing personal narrative, and the stories are much weaker for it. Gone also was that sense of self-destructiveness that is so very Rebus. These two stories have been reduced to simply average British mysteries. Not bad by any means, but no where near as gripping as Hannah's Rebus. If you're looking for Ian Rankin's stories to come alive on the screen, pick up John Hannah's Rebus."

Diamond Men

"I particularly liked this movie because it is a strong and interesting story about people I could know. Its not set in some fantasy world, but in small town America. It addresses real problems that we encounter;like losing your job and having to train your younger replacement, with empathy and wit and keen psychological insighti** only weakness is that it is not slickly filmed, but the content and acting performances far outweight the cinematic special effects.Its a film I have thought about a lot since I first viewed it last summer at a preview for a film class I attend. I have since voted it my personal favorite film for the year of all the films we viewed."
