"The movie itself, is hilarious and entertaining. Watching it in BLU-RAY just brings it up another level! The picture clarity is so amazing is almost distracts from the movie. Highly recommend the movie and watching it in BLU RAY format!!!"
"A beautiful transfer of a delightful film to Blu-ray and DVD. This film brings a breath of fresh air to the movies after the intensity of the several Oscar nominated movies this year. The cast is absolutely perfect and beleivable in this romantic comedy which intentionally or not contrasts life situations of two couples during the Holiday season in London and California. I think everyone will mark this movie as one of their new holiday favorites. I did!"
"If you're a fan of Brian Helgeland, Paul Bettany (Chaucer), or just commentary tracks in general, don't buy the extended edition. The regular DVD has every feature the 'extended' edition does - it just doesn't insert the deleted scenes into the movie. They're included as bonus features. This extended edition does not include the hilarious and insightful commentary track by Helgeland and Bettany, which is really the best thing about the DVD. You get more features for less money by buying the regular DVD release."
"This is a wonderful and much underrated film: and in Blu-Ray format the color is dazzling. Add to that the self-referential script (including set decoration that you have to scan carefully to get all the hidden jokes) and the flip dialog and canny narrative from Robert Downey,Jr. and they add up to a delightful evening of smiles, chuckles and outright guffaws! Watch closely!"
"Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet star as women who are simultaneously suffering from man troubles, and want to get away for a while for the holdays. Through a web site, they agree to swap homes for the holidays - Amanda (Cameron Diaz) ends up in a storybook cottage outside London, while Iris (Kate Winslet) finds herself in an L.A. mansion.
The movie unfolds as two movies, cutting back and forth between their stories. Amanda meets Iris's brother, Graham (Jude Law), who turns out to be unexpectingly different than any other man she's ever met. Meanwhile, Iris meets Miles (Jack Black), a funny goofball of a guy who helps Iris lighten up and stop pining for the man who will never love her."
"I was extremely surprised by this movie because it covertly tells a lot of different stories on a lot of different levels, depending on your perspective. On first screening, I had a very low opinion, and would have switched discs had the acting not been so well done (especially after the entrance of Sossamon). However, the ending threw me so much (wondering 'how did they DO that?!') that I had to play it again, and the second time around, it was actually riveting. If you like movies that make you think rather than take you for a ride, this one is definitely worth playing twice. If you like the ride? Well, you'll probably be disappointed. "
