"Don't get me wrong, I love Pink Floyd (and The Wall too) but this constant rehashing of DSOTM and The Wall into 'Anniversary, Special Editions...ad nauseum' is just plain ripping off the fans.
How about the long awaited DVD release of Pulse or Delicate Sound of Thunder instead? "
"This is indeed one of the finest television productions ever filmed. I see that it is the property of fox, so one would hope that a dvd is on the way, as the price for the taped set is exorbitant. Michael gambon achieved deserved praise and fame for his brilliant, tour-de-force performance as philip marlowe (yes, that's rather an obvious pun, but the humor and wealth of ideas on display in this work in no way fall into that category). Director potter had one of the truly eccentric, surreal and comic imaginations of the past 50 years. This masterpiece definitely falls under the heading, 'must viewing.' hopefully, it will be far more accessible to the viewing public in the near future."
Masterpiece Theatre: Elizabeth I - The Virgin Queen
"I know it has a lot of drama and all. But this is not a film for viewers who don't want to hear a Queen Mary with a strong New York accent, see a bunch of people playing Elizabethan roles with decidedly modern movements and speech patterns, and hear rock-y modern music in the background."
"Thish**chco** spoof is great....Bill is at his best. Some of the scenes in this movie are just so funny, that you will laugh out loud. His improve method is still ati** best. This movie will make you feel good. Lots of laughs. Must watch."
"People can piss and moan about plot and structure and character but when you've got a film like this one you should put those things aside and watch the movie for what it is, a very well done comedy about mistaken identity. The idea may be cliche but with Bill Murray's comic timing and prowess, it doesn't matter if the idea has been used a thousand times. This movie made me laugh from start to finish. Why? Because it is a comedy. If it makes you laugh, its doing its job. Murray delivered a hillarious performance as did Alfred Molina and the old British Bad guy(don't know his name). His brother played by Peter Gallagher was also surprisingly funny in his scenes. A comic gem that should be given more credit."
