"This is one of my favorite Raimi films and with this HD DVD release, it really does the film justice. True there are no extra supplements here, but the picture quality alone makes this release worth every penny. The color and sharpness of the picture quality is 100% improvement over the standard dvd edition. Don't miss out on this title and lets hope Universal contiunes to release films of this quality to the HD DVD library. :) "
"Scratch the Surface is a documentary made by former model Tara Fitzpatrick who interviews the models that she worked with in her youth. The insights offered by her peers are not particularly noteworthy, but I bought this dvd because I was a teenager during the time these ladies were modelling and I was one of the many young girls fascinated by these young ladies and followed them month to month 'Seventeen' magazine. I always wondered what happened to them and although the documentary doesn't reveal much, it does give a glimpse of what they are up to now."
"Jerry Goldsmith's combines essences of George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein in this inspired soundtrack. The sites and sounds of New York seem to waft over the senses as the flowing strings and French horns play. Piano and percussion highlight gang conflict. Classic stuff!Grab a bagel, sit back, relax and enjoy this one."
"The time - the late 80s.The place - a Pennsylvania steel town in the grips of a recession.Against this less-than-pleasant backdrop is set a story of jealousy and violence. Who did what to who? Why did who do what to who? Who is telling the truth about what who did what to who and why who did what to who?Although this movie should have been good, it comes across as mediocre. The acting is so-so, some sections of the movie seem to wander, it leaves you with the feeling thati**hould have been better.Ah well, that's show business!!!"
"I have been wanting this movie for a long, long time. originally it was only available on vhs, but thanks to miracle that is dvd, this 'cult' classic may now be enjoyed for many years to come! andrew dice clay rocks!..."
"I cannot imagine why anybody would enjoy this 'film'. This is easily the worst movie I have ever seen. It is even worse than Godzilla and that takes a lot to beat. If you decide to see this movie please take both earplugs and a shotgun. You need the earplugs to ignore the dialouge and plot, and the shotgun comes in quite handy at the end of the movie when you have the choice either to blow off your own head, or admit to any living person that you spent money to see it."
