"I must admit that my wife and I only watched the first fifteen minutes of this DVD, before turning it off. We're both fans of Alanis, but we were amazed that she allowed this DVD to be released. It's a waste of money. The sound quality is horrible. We have a relatively large collection of live performance DVD's, and this one is soon heading to a music store that buys used DVD's. I doubt we'll get much for it.I hope that Alanis releases a high quality DVD of one of her performance with no gimmics, no artsy/fartsy [stuff] that detracts from her amazing voice and lyrics."
"I lived in Alaska for almost nine years. To see the Goo Goo Dolls perfoming in the state of Alaska was incredible. Their music, with the backdrop of Alaska makes for one of the most awesome music DVD's available. If you are a GGD fan this is a must own DVD. The version of the song 'Slide' is a must see. The Goo Goo Dolls are out on a chunk of glacier floating while singing the song. Simply Great!!!!!!"
"'Pittsburgh' has its moments (the initial audition scene with Jeff Goldblum, a few others). The problem is, Christopher Guest and Michael McKean raised the bar so high on artistic mockumentaries ('Waiting for Guffman', 'Spinal Tap', 'A Mighty Wind') that one is too often aware of what's missing in this effort, namely a sense of true absurdity bubbling underneath the faux seriousness of it all. The concept is good, but not enough genuinely funny moments to make 'Pittsburgh' something I'd recommend. "
"Angie Stone rules and it's a shame she doesn't get the props she is due. Everytime I watch a live performance of her, I get more convinced that she will be classified as one of the greats of our era. This dvd is amazing, she sings all my faves and she sounds great on every song. For all Angie Stone fans, you need to get the Pure Sessions dvd, she really gave a funky performance in a small intimate setting. You'll feel like you were in the club. Everybody in the club looked like they were having a ball. Personally, I feel that other soul singers (jill Scott, Erykah Badu & Alicia Keys) cannot hold a candle to her. The only person that comes close is Jill Scott. Please support a true artist."
"It wasn't quite what I was expecting but I was still pretty good. I was expecting more of a documentary and history of the word. Most of the film was comedians take on the word. Still worth checking out!"
"Many of today's artists release a concert video/DVD, yet Alanis Morissette has added her own special touch to this one. Containing all of her beloved songs off of 'Jagged Little Pill', this video not only features Alanis and her tight band perform to an adoring audience, but also how she coped with the recent celebrity and adoration of her music. The live performances are incredibly strong, especially the heart-tugging 'Mary Jane'. This video is not only great for the performances, but it also sheds light on this amazing and talented Canadian singer/songwriter."
